Grammy Winners Choose Local Band To Open Show

Fort Collins, Colorado

It may be cold outside, but there’s going to be some hot Louisiana music at Washington’s to warm you up when The Rebirth Brass Band, a New Orleans institution since 1983, takes the stage on February 28th. Before the Grammy winning brass band comes out to get everyone jumping,  John Magnie’s Grocery Story Band, a local Fort Collins band with strong Louisiana ties, will open the show with songs from their upcoming, and well seasoned, album!

You won’t want to miss the uber groovy ‘Plaquemines Parish’ by New Orleans native Rhonda Merrick, or the intensely satisfying ‘Too Hurt To Cry’ by the very talented Peaches Embry. Erik Lunde will deliver a wailing good time on vocals, with Mike Finders on guitar, Marty Rein on bass, talented drummers Jess and Steve Amedee, and John Magnie himself on the keyboard and occasionally accordion! It’s going to be a truly flavorful musical evening you will not want to miss.
